I always had the dream of becoming a designer. I was to design clothes and my friend was to model them. It was a perfect idea at the time. Now that I am a mother I find myself drawn more to children’s clothes and fashion and I don’t think, as beautiful as she is, that she could pull off a onesie or a hooded towel.
I love the creative aspect of pairing different fabrics together and making something unique. I enjoy the calm and quiet of sewing and having the satisfaction of having a finished piece that I have put my hands on.
I remember my first sewing project…curtains for our house. My parents came over and my Mom taught me the basics of sewing and my Dad made wood boxes for the cornice boards (which we later applied batting to and covered them with fabric). At the time the hardest and most intimidating part was not the sewing, but the threading of the machine. I have conquered the threading and basic maintenance of the machine and have been a sewing fool ever since.
Other items about me as a person…I am a bargain shopper. I love yard sales, coupons and anything marked 75% off or more! I like things organized and scheduled and often amaze myself with the amount of things I can accomplish by 8:00 a.m.
Congratulations on this great blog. Keep up the great work. You are amazing. I’ll be checking it regularly.

Something tells me I won’t be fitting into your awesome designs anytime soon. Maybe my legacy one day will 🙂
Great blog! Love the school pics- and think that one day my kids will be wearing Skylane Designs!
